The Mindful Bride, Wedding Planner Tips from MeetingPlannerOnline.com: Finding the Dress

The Mindful Bride, Wedding Planner Tips from MeetingPlannerOnline.com: Finding the Dress

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) November 25, 2011

As a wedding planner if there’s one part of the wedding planning process that most women think about years before they get engaged, it’s selecting the dress. Finding and purchasing a wedding gown is typically a very emotional experience for a bride, but, like all other elements of planning a wedding, practical decision-making should be a part of wedding dress shopping. Adrienne Smith of MeetingPlannerOnline.com that helps users find the right wedding venue understands this first hand; providing tips for brides about to venture out for the perfect dress.

More than likely, a bride-to-be has thumbed through the pages of bridal magazines, thus having some ideas of what type of dress she wants for her big day. Most brides are inevitably surprised when some of the styles that they think they like don’t actually meet their expectations at a bridal boutique. Not to worry, there are styles that flatter every bride. But, before a bride heads out to the boutiques, she should really know her basic criteria in order to have a productive shopping experience. Some of these basics include: price range, designers, and style.

Larger boutiques, such as Kleinfeld’s in Manhattan or Bridal & Formal in Cincinnati, will assign a consultant to each bride who will ask all these questions upon arrival. Price range is the first question brides will be asked, so make sure you have a response to this question since most brides have a budget and wedding gown prices can vary significantly. Be aware that typically a sales consultant will select dresses for a bride that are at the upper end of her price range, some of which will be slightly beyond the high end. They do this because if a bride falls in love with a dress that is minimally to moderately beyond her price limits, she will more than likely make the purchase. So be prepared for these clever sales tactics and when to be firm with financial limitations.

Online research prior to shopping boutiques is recommended in order to learn designers of interest and costs. Designer Watters is an excellent example of gorgeous and trendy dresses with lots of price variety. Watters has two lines: Watters & Watters, their upscale, sophisticated line averaging $ 1,000-2,000, and Wtoo, the “price charming” trendy line averaging $ 500-1,200. Both lines are offer beautiful modern wedding gowns, where no bride can go wrong.

A factor that some brides may overlook is whether a particular dress style suits the venue atmosphere. Especially since more brides are having their ceremonies in more unique settings, such as museums, modern urban settings, old mansions, or an outdoor garden, brides want to ensure that their dress style doesn’t conflict with the venue style. A modern setting, such as an art museum or renovated warehouse, would call for a modern, sleek look (such as designer Amy Kuschel or J. Crew); whereas a more romantic & classic style (such as Priscilla of Boston or Mon Cheri ) would suit an old mansion or hotel, or garden setting.

And don’t forget about the accessories. When looking to shop smart for accessories, stay away from bridal boutique accessories that are often over-priced for the quality. If a bridal consultant outfits a bride with desirable accessories, usually the same look can be found at department stores, such as Macy’s, Dillard’s, or JC Penney. Websites such as usabride.com and etsy.com offers a variety of bridal jewelry and accessories for the stylish, modern bride.

Brother of the bride wedding speech, very amusing!

First of all, sorry to anyone who has come to this video expecting animal enrichment, this is an one off and enrichment uploads will continue after this video. After being asked to do a speech at my sisters wedding I trawled through the internet, watched a load of YouTube videos and very quickly realised that everyone uses the same jokes, same comments etc. So I decided just to use my own stories and avoid all the clichéd jokes that get used in every speech. It went very well and got a great response from the other guests, so I decided to share it with you guys just to give you a few ideas.
Video Rating: 5 / 5

House of Brides? Diva Bridal Boutique Introduced for the Plus Size Bride

House of Brides’ Diva Bridal Boutique Introduced for the Plus Size Bride

Signature Plus uncommitted sizes 16W – 28W

Glen Ellyn, IL (PRWEB) October 18, 2011

House of Brides introduces the Diva Bridal Boutique opened July 2011 and is the first store in the country committed to real size women. The boutique has a full selection of wedding dress samples in sizes 18 – 40 and “W” sizes only. Brides can try-on samples in their sizes from leading designer collections and in the latest styles. Wedding gowns are available for special order and immediate delivery.

House of Brides analyzed the shopping practices of women and concluded that this target group tended to put off shopping for several reasons: to give themselves more time to lose weight, they’re afraid they won’t find anything in their size, they don’t know where to go to find their size and they are turned off to the dress-shopping experience altogether. In response, the company created the boutique to address the specific issues of selection and service.

Generally, bridal retailers have plus size samples available but selection is limited. Designers send dress samples in industry average sizes of 8, 10 and 12, which do not necessarily reflect today’s real bride. According to the company President, Eva Buziecki, “Nearly fifty percent of our brides wear size 12 or larger now.” Some designers recognize this trend and have included plus size divisions. Such lines include Signature Plus by Private Label by G, Unforgettable by Bonny and Julietta by Mori Lee. These collections are made exclusively in Women’s sizes and in complimentary styles for a curvy figure.

Diva Bridal carries designer plus size lines and additional designer dresses in larger sizes only. The buyers pay special attention to designs that work best for a larger bust, waist and hip to compliment plus size silhouettes.

Additionally, having to try on a bridal gown sample that doesn’t fit is problematic. Plus size brides unable to try-on average size samples and sharing dressing room and stage space with smaller sized brides have been an ongoing issue at bridal retailers. Industry Consultant Dale Buziecki said, “The “average” sample dress will not give plus size brides an accurate idea of how a dress will fit. It’s embarrassing for a bride when they have to share the same space with other brides that fit the sample sizes.”

All of these obstacles were a driving force for the company to open Diva Bridal. The Diva Boutique offers wedding dress sizes, stage areas and the entire showroom tailored for plus size women. These brides can shop among other customers who face the same issues. Consultants in the boutique are trained to know what will work for the voluptuous body and can lend their specialized expertise. The end result is the ultimate shopping experience.

The Diva Bridal Boutique is an exclusive store specializing in dressing brides, sizes 18 – 40. House of Brides continuously analyzes their information to better assist their customers and to reach out to new customers. The boutique is another example of House of Brides continuing to grow its brand and customer base.

Diva Bridal is located at 1184 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, 1 door west of House of Brides. For store Locations & Hours, visit http://www.houseofbrides.com/TourOurStores.

-  Checklists: these are probably the most important tool the disorganized bride could have.  You will find checklists for free on the internet through many wedding related websites.  Find a set which outdone fit with your wedding dreamt or edit a set to fit.  Wedding planning checklists will named every element and detail of a wedding in a time ordered list.  Typically they will begin at 18 months before the wedding day and will include everything you will need to consider for your marry up to the marry day itself and some even go beyond. Follow your checklists every day and make sure you click each item off as you finish it.

-  Delegate: whether you are busy or just disorganized, delegating elements of your wedding planning to others will ensure things get done!  Ask your maid of honor, your groom, your parents and anyone else who offers to take on an element or two of your wedding.  Delegating your planning to others will take the pressure off you and give you more time to devote to other elements of your day.

-  Hire a Professional: if you are so disorganized that none of the above are going to help you, then it is time to hire in a pro and convey in a professional wedding planner to form your day for you.  You can hire a wedding planner to form your entire wedding or just a part of it such as the reception.  Hiring a wedding planner to organize some of your wedding but not all can be a good option if you want to organize your wedding yourself but find it too hard to stay on exceed of everything that needs to be done.

Q&A: In Need of Wedding Ideas for between the Bride and Groom?

Question by Pickle: In Need of Wedding Ideas for between the Bride and Groom?
I need ideas of things we could do together to make it personal. Someone I know had her and her groom fill a jar with sand (their wedding colors). I want something like that. Something cheap that we could do together. Ideas please?

Best answer:

Answer by Dew Drops
The common ones are the sand; using 2 candles to light a large one; and releasing doves together. You can also ask your MOH or BM to connect your rings with a ribbon which represents the connection of your souls for the ceremony.Another idea is using 2 jars of coloured water, say pink and blue; or your wedding colours and pouring them into a bigger jar to create a new colour symbolizing a “new life”.
